Before joining the legal profession and after completing his law degree in 1992 undertook a post graduate research degree from 1994 to 1996 and between 1992 and 1999 taught law at the four universities of Liverpool and Manchester before completing the Bar course in 1999.   

Worked in Law firms from 1999 until cross qualifying as a solicitor in 2004 where he had a broad civil practice covering clinical and professional negligence; fatal accidents; high value personal injury work and acting for adult survivors of child abuse.     

Returned to the Bar in 2018 and joined Charterhouse Chambers to focus on family law.     

Instructed regularly by the same firms of solicitors and lay clients.   Clients ask for him  to represent them again.  

Lay clients know him for his down to earth approach and ability to make a difficult process more understandable to clients and for his client to be understood.  

Professional clients know him for prompt and detailed reports of hearing outcomes.
