Jack Bickerton
Called to the Bar 2023
Jack is a family law practitioner and prior to joining Charterhouse sat as a Family magistrate in the north-west.
He is a qualified mediator and has had work published regarding both the involvement of the family court where radicalisation of children is involved, and whether preventive detention should be used as a counterterrorism mechanism against suspected terrorists.
Jack was recently shortlisted at the Greater Manchester Pro Bono Awards for Barrister of the Year
On the Bar Training Course Jack was awarded the top mark in the country for submission advocacy.


FAMILY
Jack undertakes all matters pertaining to children, and financial remedy.
Jack accepts instructions in all private and public law children matters.
He has a particular interest in Court of Protection matters, his experience includes care and (education) treatment reviews for autistic people/people with a learning disability, including children; Jack is an accredited Oliver McGowan trainer (Autism) and delivers co-developed bespoke training on the principles of the MCA 2005 and human rights, often for staff such as carers.
Jack acts in financial remedy cases and is happy to represent clients who have qualified for legal aid.
